Dr. McGuire came to CHKD after a pediatric surgical fellowship at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Prior to that, she completed a surgical critical care fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Her general surgery residency was completed at the University of Massachusetts. As a pediatric surgeon, Dr. McGuire believes it is important to provide care to the whole family and to understand that even the most straightforward operation is still being done to someone's baby. She always strives to imagine how her parents would feel and to treat every family as she would want her family treated.
